Team Backpack is to internet distributed West Coast rap, as Wu-Tang was to Underground distributed East Coast Rap. Okay, maybe not exactly Shoalin Masters like Rza and Gza, but Team Backpack does their thizzle.
Their videos are fresh. The emcees are lyrical. The beats are banging… and it can all be found on the internet: facebook, twitter, youtube, and of course their own website: temabackpack.net
Team Backpack is a collaboration of a number of artists from the San Francisco Bay Area. The emcees come together for events and ciphers, where they bring their collective crews and show their individual talents. Although the appeal is that of an ole’ school freestyle battle, in these ciphers: everybody wins.
And when the group can’t come together physically, teambackpack.net serves as the central hub where the artists can cross promote and stay in the loop.
