Rusty Redenbacher is easily one of the most underrated emcees ever. Rusty, aka Choc Surreal of Indianapolis’ MUDKIDS teams up with Mr. Kinetic to present The Professor And The Hustler and continues to lay down one of the most unique, rhythmatic, innovative flows in Hip Hop.

Easily one of the dopest tracks of the year. Off Trials Of the Blackhearted EP.

In Ancient Kemet they believed the heart was the organ that controlled thought, logic and knowledge. The weighing of the heart, against a feather, was used to determine if people were righteous or wicked during their time on earth. If their heart was heavier than the feather, the Heart was devoured. With the world rapidly changing, and evolving beyond recognition, people are becoming even more desensitized to the conditions we exist in. The most heinous acts are applauded as “interesting” and “entertaining” while genuine acts of love, and justice are shunned. We can sensationalize but we are scared of true emotion, we have more information now than ever before but no one wants to read. The truth is scary, it is easier to escape through our favorite vice, than to deal with the harsh reality of the present. Our hearts are heavy, our hearts are dark, these are the Trials Of The Blackhearted.

Kinda rare for a cover to be better than the original, but this one is. Then again, they set the standard a long time ago, so I guess it should come as no surprise. This one’s for the ladies.
Recently I sat down with a old high school buddy of mine, Super Mario. As we remembered our days of being on the 4th floor bathroom in Fashion Industries in a lyrical cipher, banging on the walls of the bathroom stall, each MC having his turn at lyrical supremacy, we paused for a minute to do some catching up on what’s new.
Super mario moved to Ohio, started a label called Elev8tor Music, and put out a songs with Styles P called “Favorite Drug,” as well as, “Misery” ft. Jada Kiss. He and his artist\in house producer\writer\partner, Rashad have a few projects in the works, but there was one song in particular that caught my attention — A song called “Slapp” by 23yr old MC from Ohio Stalley ft. Rashad. The song has a Southern feel with a cross over appeal.
Super Mario says that when he was introduced to Stalley he found him to be focused and easy to work with. The album and title track are called Lincoln Way Nights and the remixed version will feature Rick Ross. Elev8tor music will definitely be around for years to come. And I look forward to more good music. Thanks Super Mario.
